Which EU EORI do you need?

It depends on where your company is based and where you trade. Pick your situation:

US & other non-EU companies

Shipping to or from the EU? You need an valid EU EORI, issued by one EU member state.

UK companies

You need a GB EORI for UK imports and exports – we assist you to locate it. Trading with the EU? A GB EORI is not valid there, so you’ll also need an EU EORI.

EU companies

You register one EU EORI in the member state where your company is established, and it’s valid across the whole EU. We handle the application with your national customs authority.

Amazon FBA & marketplace sellers

Selling through EU warehouses usually means you need an EORI before your first inbound shipment – an EU EORI number.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is eorinumber.eu an official government service?

No. We are an independent, third-party professional service provider. You can always apply directly with the relevant customs authority free of charge — our €148 fee covers preparation, correct filing, follow-up with the authority, and support until your number is active.

How long does it take to get an EU EORI number?

Most numbers are issued within 1–5 business days, depending on the country and the completeness of your details. Priority (€248) means we prepare and file your application first, the same business day.

I think my company already has an EU EORI. Can you check?

Yes. We first check for an existing number and retrieve it if found — if not, we register a new one. Same €148 fee either way making sure the EORI is still valid and up-to-date for trading.

My company is in the UK. Is a GB EORI enough for EU trade?

No. A GB EORI is only valid for UK customs. To clear goods in the EU you need a separate EU EORI – we can register it for you.

Do US companies need an EU EORI number?

Yes – if your US company completes customs formalities in the EU or the UK, you need an EORI. It’s issued in the EU country where you first need it, or by HMRC for the UK.
